This modern classic was invented in 2004 by bartender Audrey Saunders, designed to be an elegant twist on the Mojito.

  • 1.5 oz (45 mL) Aged Rum
  • 1 oz (30 mL) Lime Juice
  • 0.75 oz (22.5 mL) Simple Syrup
  • 6 Mint Leaves
  • 2 Dashes Angostura Bitters
  • 2 oz (60 mL) Champagne
  • Ice for Shaking

    Combine the rum, lime juice, simple syrup, mint leaves, and bitters in a shaker.

    Add ice and shake gently (do not over-shake, as you want less foam than a Mojito).

    Double strain into a chilled coupe.

    Top with 2 oz (60 mL) of chilled Champagne.
